The Saint Patrick Initiative

The Saint Patrick Initiative is about education, inspiration and participation.

It's goal is to equip and empower our young people and leaders to follow Patrick’s example in bringing justice and reconciliation to our world. Using the dynamic principles that emerge from Patrick’s own life story (relating to identity, slavery, poverty, alienation, justice, reconciliation and transformation), the ‘Initiative’ is an informative and challenging programme that runs in schools and communities from Jan 17th to March 17th each year.

It includes school curriculum, an arts competition, a ‘Spirit of Saint Patrick’ Award Scheme honouring those who excel in bringing hope and health to their local communities, a Transition Year placement programme based in our Maynooth office, and our SPF Parade Float.

In the 2010 Maynooth Parade, our team and students from Maynooth Post Primary School carried some 30 flags from the various countries now represented in Maynooth.
